Concerts: To Attend or To Watch DVD? That's The Question

In tandem with my  earlier post about the Stones touring again  and my  unbiased opinon on owning live albums , I thought I'd write another posting regarding physically attending a concert (specifically rock),  versus seeing it on DVD. Let's break down the benefits and drawbacks of each. PHYSICALLY BEING THERE: See the artist/band in person: Not only may you get front house seats to see the artist you've been craving to see up close, but some also offer meet and greets via backstage passes - usually before and/or after the show. This lets you get closer with your favorite artist and if you're lucky, you may even get an autograph :-). This could be a real benefit if you'll be attending  one of this year's many farewell tours . Rolling Stones Touring in August

After me having written that the Stones will not be touring North America this summer, news have spread about the Stones touring after all; however, their shows will take place the good part of the summer (July and August). The Rolling Stones had planned on touring North America as part of their No FIlters tour that began back in the fall of 2017. However, Mick Jagger's condition, which resulted in a heart operation, prevented their North American leg from happening in the first place; however, in early May it was announced that the Stones had postponed their North American concerts to start after their Chicago concerts, which were to be the end of the leg. To satisfy those living in the Big Easy, the stones have even scheduled a make-up gig at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in mid-July after having to cancel their gig at the Jazz Festival.
